This is a fictional article, writte in the style of a journal, to give an idea on what one can expect on their Kilimanjaro trek with Monkey Adventures. The photos have been taken from various groups we have taken to Kilimanjaro in the past.
Day 0 - Moshi Moshi!
After years of planning and saving, it was finally happening! We couldn't be more excited to climb the tallest mountain in Africa.
After a long flight from home, we finally landed at Kilimanjaro Airport. It's an international airport closest to town of Moshi. Moshi is situated at the base of Kilimanjaro mountain, and where we are spending the night.

Since we have opted for Monkey Adventures to arrange for our transfers from the airport to our hotel in Moshi, everything was seamless. The team from Monkey Adventures were waiting for us outside the airport terminal with our name on a board.
A quick greeting and we were off to our hotel in Moshi. The drive to Moshi was around 1 hour. We checked into our hotel and took a nice hot shower. The briefing was at 5pm, so we had a few hours to get some lunch and catch up on our sleep.
After a short nap, woke up at 4:30pm and changed into our Monkey Adventures tshirts for the briefing. It felt nice to wear the same tshirt as the guides and other staff of Monkey Adventures were wearing. One team, one purpose!
We headed down to the restaurant where the briefing would be done. Very excited to understand what was in store for us over the coming days. But before that, a group photo!
Our guide and manager from Monkey Adventures were waiting for us at the restuarant for the briefing. We had to fillup a few forms for registration, medical form, etc. Once done, we paid the balance amount from our booking, and we got a receipt for the amount we paid.
During the briefing, our guide explained all the details of our upcoming climb. He answered any questions we had about the trek. We also discussed our dietery requirements.
After the briefing was done, we had a gear check. The guide took inventory of the gear that we brought alongwith us and suggested what all equipment we needed to hire.
Once this was done, our guide and us headed to the gear rental shop to rent any gear which we needed.
With our gear sorted and briefing done we were ready for tomorrow to start our climb. We decided to explore Moshi and settle down for a nice early dinner. After dinner, decided to call it an early night and head to bed. It's going to be an early start tomorrow.
Day 1 - The Adventure Begins
The day start early as we got ready for our drive to the park gate. The guide was waiting for us downstairs. We piled into the bus for our drive to the park gate. In the bus we met the other guides, our cook as well as the porters who would be carrying part of our gear.

With our permits in order, we decide for a group photo before we head into the national park. This is the classic photo in the Kilimanjaro trek - the group photo with the crew in front of the park gate.

Day 5 (Summit Day)
Day 6 - Finally, we made it back
Having travelled across the oceans and vast lands to reach Tanzania and multiple flights, we are finally done what we set out to do. We have climbed the tallest mountain on the continent of Africa - one of the seven summits.
We started this adventure with a group photo with the whole team. And we end the adventure with a group photo with the whole team.
And we look proud with our certificates.
What certificate? Well, besides a sense of accomplishment, we also get a certificate from the park department. And here's how it looks.
And with that, we have to sing one final song, before we can call it a day.
